Andy McMillin is a Clinical Professor in Portland State University's Speech and Hearing Sciences Department. Andy joined the PSU faculty in 2011, after 11 years as a pediatric speech-language pathologist at the Artz Center for Developmental Health. His areas of expertise include speech sound development and disorders, the connections between childhood language and literacy, and stuttering throughout the lifespan. In recent years, he has focused on complex speech sound disorders, and he is recognized by Apraxia Kids for advanced training and expertise in Childhood Apraxia of Speech. Andy served for more than 10 years on the board of directors of the Oregon Speech-Language & Hearing Association (OSHA), and he was elected as the 2015 OSHA President. Prior to joining the PSU faculty full-time, Andy was an adjunct instructor for several years, and he taught several academic courses on speech and language development and disorders at both the graduate and undergraduate level. He currently leads the Speech Sound Disorders clinic at PSU, and he teaches in the areas of Phonetics/Acoustics and Childhood Speech Sound Disorders.
