Rick Howell is the principal of Howell Management Consulting, specializing in strategic planning and human resources. He has worked almost thirty years, performing most human resource specialties with companies such as New Seasons Market, Longview Fibre and Packaging, Knowledge Learning Corporation, and Red Lion Hotels. In addition to teaching for Portland State University, Rick has taught at Washington State University and City University.
Rick has received NHRMA’s Distinguished Member award for lifetime achievement and served in various volunteer roles with the Society for Human Resource Management. He earned his BA in English and Speech and his MBA from Washington State University. Rick holds Senior Professional in Human Resources, Certified Professional Consultant and SHRM-SCP credentials, and he was among the first in the nation to earn GPHR certification.
