Dr. Gwynn R. Johnson is an Associate Professor in the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department at Portland State University. Dr. Johnson's primary research interests are in the mechanistic study of processes that govern environmental systems, specifically those contributing and pertaining to contaminant transport and fate, fluid flow, soils, and groundwater remediation. Her interests encompass many fields of study, including environmental engineering, environmental chemistry, soil and water sciences, hydrology, water resources, and environmental sustainability. Dr. Johnson is very passionate about engineered and sustainable solutions to complex environmental problems such as advanced stormwater technologies, alternative energy, sustainable agriculture, soil health and enhancements, and contaminants of emerging concern in the environment. Dr. Johnson received her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and her Masters and Bachelors degree from the University of Florida. Dr. Johnson is an active member of American Chemical Society and American Geophysical Union.
