Dr. Chien Wern is an Associate Professor in the Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department in the Maseeh College of Engineering & Computer Science at Portland State University. Dr. Wern also serves as Graduate Program Director and Advisor. Dr. Wern’s technical specialties include mechanical testing, fatigue testing, fracture mechanics, manufacturing process optimization, instrumentation, and robotics.
Dr. Wern’s current research includes surface characterization and strength of machined products and fatigue testing of gears.
