The invited guest of Oregon Congressman Earl Blumenauer, Portland State University President Ann Cudd will attend the annual State of the Union address at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., this week.

President Cudd will be in the audience with Congressman Blumenauer when President Joe Biden addresses a Joint Session of Congress on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.

“It’s an absolute honor to be invited to attend the State of the Union with our Congressional Representative, Earl Blumenauer,” Cudd said. “Congressman Blumenauer is a tireless champion for Portland and for so many of the values that Portland and Portland State University hold dear. We share a passion for the revitalization of our great city and he has a deep understanding of our unique student population and the vital role that PSU plays as Oregon’s urban research university.”

I look forward to hearing from President Biden and working with President Cudd to find ways to bring the President’s message back to Portland.”

Every member of Congress can bring one guest to the State of the Union address. In addition to attending President Biden’s address, President Cudd will spend time meeting with lawmakers from Oregon to discuss Portland State projects and priorities.
