Matt Kaufman joined the Portland State School of Business in the fall of 2016. He holds a B.A. from George Fox University, an MBA from the University of Oregon, and a Ph.D. in Accounting Information Systems from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to entering academia, Matt worked as an auditor for Deloitte in Portland, Oregon and in corporate finance for a local manufacturing firm.

As the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, Matt is laser-focused on student success. His responsibilities include course scheduling and staffing, instructor support and feedback, and curricular innovation and improvement. He also partners with student support services to ensure every undergraduate student has a path to translate academic success into career opportunity.

Students can reach out to Matt with any questions they might have about courses, instructors, degree paths, or experiential learning opportunities. He's also happy to talk hoops (Trailblazers or Fire) with anyone who will listen.

Colleen joined The School of Business at PSU the summer of 2022. She oversees all marketing initiatives, which includes developing and executing strategies around the brand, design, social media, digital, advertising, print, messaging and sponsorships. Colleen also develops and nurtures relationships between The School of Business and members of the media and the public.

John joined The School of Business in 2023, and his goal is to be a resource for faculty, staff, and students in their efforts to navigate the university’s processes and systems, and to support faculty and students with teaching and learning.

John works with The School of Business budgets (information, requests, status, fund usage, and reports); hiring requests; contracts (letters of offer, PSIs, PSCs, and internal/external agreements); travel authorizations/reimbursements and personal reimbursements; expenditure requests and approvals; indexes and foundation accounts; Pcard; purchase orders and invoice payments; data and guidance for expenditure decisions; university's information/policies/procedures/requirements; course plans and guidance, and general questions.

Marcos describes himself as the air traffic controller of the School of Business. With a comprehensive view of the school's functions and daily operations, he ensures seamless and strategic coordination among key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships between faculty, staff, and students.

With seven years at PSU, Marcos brings deep expertise in both student affairs and academic administration. He has held roles in Campus Recreation, the School of Engineering, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and The School of Business.

As the Assistant Director of Administration in the Dean's Office, Marcos manages high-level, confidential matters that are critical to the university’s success. His close collaboration with university leadership make his insights indispensable to The School of Business and its students.

Dr. Rupley joined the Accounting Faculty at PSU in 2006. Kathy oversees personnel-related policies and activities for full-time faculty, including recruiting, hiring, development, performance management, and faculty reviews. She also oversees research activity and research support for SB faculty.

Becky has been working at PSU since 1998 and has been with The School of Business since 2003. Becky oversees all School of Business student support services, programming, and operational elements. She works with her teams to identify student barriers, collaboratively eliminate them or help students overcome those barriers.

Students would go to Becky when they need help figuring out the next best step when faced with a barrier. Becky leads three teams of skilled student success professionals and has a large network across campus so chances are good that Becky will know where a student can go to for support and resources.
