Dear Colleagues and Friends,
As we reflect on the 2023-2024 academic year, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the remarkable achievements we have accomplished together. This year has been a shining example of the resilience, innovation, and dedication of our faculty, students, staff, alumni, supporters, and partners.
Our school has continued to lead with purpose and passion, driving transformative change through groundbreaking research, dynamic educational experiences, and impactful community engagement. This year, we have celebrated numerous milestones that highlighted our mission to create positive social, ecological, and economic impact through inclusive, transformative learning and meaningful research.
Our students have distinguished themselves through participation in entrepreneurial and business competitions, demonstrating exceptional creativity and problem-solving abilities. Their success in addressing real-world challenges speaks volumes about the strength of our programs and the supportive environment we strive to foster.
Our faculty members have showcased their commitment to academic excellence and thought leadership through influential research and scholarly contributions. Their work not only advances the field of business but also enriches our students; learning experiences, preparing them to lead and innovate in a rapidly changing global landscape.
Here are some of our standout achievements this year:
- Our undergraduate business program has been ranked in the top 13% nationwide, securing the 24th position out of 214 programs evaluated. This recognition affirms the high quality of our educational offerings.
- A business student was a team member of PSU students that developed HearBat, an innovative application addressing auditory word recognition for cochlear implant users. Its selection as a finalist in Google's Developer Student Clubs Solution Challenge demonstrates our students' capacity for impactful innovation.
- The Summer Business Institute provided valuable college educational experiences to high school students from diverse backgrounds, aligning with our commitment to inclusivity and community engagement.
- Our inaugural School of Business Senior Capstone Showcase highlighted students' ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical business challenges, offering insights and solutions to local Portland businesses.
- The Human Resource Management Association won the prestigious SHRM Outstanding Chapter Award, one of only 12 chapter awards nationwide, underscores our leadership in human resource management education.
- Three business faculty members were ranked among the top 100,000 most-cited researchers globally in the latest Stanford-Elsevier rankings, highlighting the impact and relevance of our academic research.
- Our Career Center reported strong outcomes, with 92% of undergraduates and 93% of graduates securing full-time employment or continuing their education within 3-6 months of graduation.
- Our community has generously supported our students and our mission, with 339 donors contributing a total of $2,664,799, including $542,999 awarded in scholarships to 179 deserving students.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to our donors, alumni, partners, and supporters. Your unwavering commitment and generosity have been instrumental in driving our success and enabling us to deliver exceptional education and research.
