Killian Pacific (KP) and Portland State University's Center for Real Estate (CRE) are pleased to announce an exciting new collaboration paving the way for the next generation of real estate leaders. This multifaceted partnership reflects a shared commitment to student success, diversity, and innovation, setting the stage for impactful initiatives that extend beyond the classroom.

The George Killian Building Impact Fund

Since 2016, Killian Pacific has been a steadfast supporter of the CRE, contributing to its growth through sponsorships, internships, and volunteer board service. Building on this foundation, KP has doubled down on its commitment to PSU by establishing The George Killian Building Impact Fund in late 2023. Named in honor of their founder, George Killian, a PSU alumnus, the fund embodies his enduring legacy of community, empowerment, and shared prosperity.

"I am thrilled to deepen the connection between Killian Pacific and PSU's Center for Real Estate through the George Killian Building Impact Fund. This collaboration prioritizes faculty support, career services, and scholarships, emphasizing our dedication to cultivating the next wave of diverse real estate leaders," says Adam Tyler, President of Killian Pacific.

Housed within the Center for Real Estate, the fund prioritizes the advancement of diversity, equity, and inclusion, while providing critical support for student engagement, internships, scholarships, and program resources. With Killian Pacific’s financial pledge totaling nearly $100,000, including future annual commitments, the fund underscores their commitment to fostering a thriving and diverse real estate talent pool.

A Commitment Beyond Sponsorship

Killian Pacific's engagement with PSU goes beyond financial sponsorship. KP recently initiated an internship program with the PSU Center for Real Estate, offering students a five-month paid rotation to gain real-world experience and exposure to their various departments and functions of Development, Portfolio Management, and Social Impact. Bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical application, the internship aims to nurture the next generation of real estate professionals.

“At Killian Pacific, we prioritize innovation and collaboration to create inclusive and sustainable communities. Our partnership with PSU's Center for Real Estate goes beyond financial support and prioritizes active engagement and co-creation with the Center and its students to empower future real estate professionals and ensure we build a future for all,” says Nicole Stein, Director of Social Impact and Sustainability, and a PSU alum.

Beyond financial support and internships, Killian Pacific is proud to employ many individuals who are actively involved in the PSU community through volunteering. Michi Slick, KP’s Principal of Development, is currently teaching a Real Estate Development class to PSU Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) students at PSU’s CRE. And in 2023, KP President, Adam Tyler, joined PSU’s Center for Real Estate Board, both signaling a continued commitment to the long-term growth of PSU and investment into the local real estate industry.

Envisioning a Collaborative Future

PSU’s Center for Real Estate shares the purpose-driven and long-term mission of Killian Pacific, which is to harness the academic institution to empower new generations of real estate leaders. Contemplating the future of real estate, KP envisions a landscape shaped by sustainable durability. This is why they are dedicated to partnering with the talented PSU students and aspiring to contribute to the creation of meaningful places built to serve many generations to come.

Killian Pacific's partnership with PSU transcends the conventional. It's a dynamic collaboration marked by active participation, co-creation, and a shared vision for the future. KP’s connection with PSU stands as a testament to enduring values and the belief in the transformative power of education in shaping the future of real estate.
