Dr. Hu, Dean of the School of Business, invites all business students to participate in the Dean’s Student Circle—a group that meets regularly for networking, mentorship, and leadership development.
We operate on an engagement-based model: anyone can sign up and attend meetings. However, students who attend at least three meetings throughout the academic year will earn an official certificate of Dean's Student Circle Member for that academic year (a great addition to your resume and LinkedIn!). Leadership potential is demonstrated in many different ways, and we welcome a wide range of experiences and perspectives.
About the group
Each term, the Dean meets with business students over lunch. Alumni and members from the business community are invited to speak and the Dean facilitates the discussion. Students have the opportunity to hear from these professionals in an informal setting, ask questions, and share their own experiences. The intention is for students to develop leadership skills and build a professional network with fellow members and speakers.
Requirements
- Attend at least 3 lunch meetings in the academic year to earn and maintain official member status for the 2026-2027 Academic Year.
- Be willing to share personal experiences, especially regarding challenges and opportunities.
- Be willing to engage with guest speakers.
- Be willing to represent the student body (this may mean volunteering at events or being involved in other ways when requested).
