Q: Why did The School of Business open the Jerry Parsons Finance Lab? 

A:  The Jerry Parsons Finance Lab, located in Karl Miller Center (KMC) 270, provides students access to Bloomberg Terminals, which act as a trusted source aggregating financial market information and news. All business students can benefit from the industry, supply chain, and market data provided by Bloomberg Terminal as well. 

Q: How can students access Bloomberg Terminals?

A: Bloomberg Terminals Access: The Jerry Parsons Finance Lab located in KMC 270 is open 24/7. Students and faculty can access the lab with their PSU ID.  Bloomberg Terminal can only be accessed in person from the computers in the Jerry Parsons Finance Lab. Using their pdx.edu email address, students can log into the Bloomberg Terminal with an existing account  or set up a new account with their pdx.edu email address. 

Follow these instructions to set up a new account.

Q: Who can use the Jerry Parsons Finance Lab in order to access Bloomberg Terminal?

A: Undergraduate Finance majors, MSF students, MBA Finance Option students, and Finance faculty. These students and faculty must use their PSU ID to access the lab when in person access to the lab is available.  Otherwise, students and faculty may access the Bloomberg Terminals remotely (see instructions above).

Q: When is the Jerry Parsons Finance Lab open? 

A: The Jerry Parsons Finance Lab is open 24/7 and available on a drop-in basis except when it’s been reserved for a class or a training. To view when the Finance Lab has been reserved, visit the Karl Miller Center Room Scheduler.

Q: I’m a Finance major or MSF student but can’t access the Jerry Parsons Finance Lab. What should I do? 

A: Email Faculty Services at sbafsrvs@pdx.edu or visit KMC 310 or email at sbafsrvs@pdx.edu.

Q: I’m a student with an existing Bloomberg account and I can’t seem to log into it from the Bloomberg Terminal.  What should I do?  

If students have not logged into their account in 90 days, the account may be deactivated.  To activate your account, contact Bloomberg customer support 24/7 by email at bbg.edu@bloomberg.net or visit their customer support page.

Q: I’m a PSU student and would like access to the Jerry Parsons Finance Lab. What should I do?
