Erin Merz serves as director of marketing and communications for The School of Business where she’s responsible for developing and implementing strategies that support the institution’s recruitment and retention goals. She leads a creative team of professional and student staff who are responsible for owned, paid and earned media.
Erin has been with PSU since 2015, previously serving as assistant director of marketing and communications for Campus Rec & Student Union Services. Prior to PSU, she held a variety of marketing and communications roles that span the public, private and nonprofit sectors. As a seasoned, purpose-driven professional with over 15 years of experience, Erin’s passion for storytelling, results-driven mindset, and commitment to building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders adds substantial value to organizations she works with.
Erin has a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting from Grand Valley State University, a master’s degree in communications from the New York Institute of Technology and holds the Accreditation in Public Relations (APR). She’s an active member and volunteer with the Public Relations Society of America Oregon Chapter.
Erin is also an instructor for BA 316U Essentials of Marketing.
