Behavioral Studies

In line with our dedication to generating insightful research, The School of Business operates a Behavioral Research Lab. The purpose of the lab is to facilitate behavioral data collection (surveys, focus groups, interviews, etc.) for faculty and staff across business disciplines.

Studies conducted in the lab may be used toward publication in academic journals and conferences, gaining managerial insights, or developing student programs.

Study participants are recruited through business courses and offered extra credit in exchange for their participation. While lab studies may be conducted online, the lab also has a dedicated physical space in KMC 262. Study sign ups and participation management is administered through our SONA Site.

Lab Space and Seating

They physical location of the lab is KMC 262. The room is equipped with enough seating and tables to accommodate up to 20 people.

The space is ideal for conducting focus groups or behavioral experiments that require in-person participation.

Hardware and Software

Researchers may make use of four desktop computers (with MS Office Suite, VPN, Trellix AntiVirus, and all other standard PSU software) and 12 Amazon tablets to administer web-based surveys or present digital study participants.

To facilitate qualitative data collection, the lab space is also equipped with a mounted Logitech camera and microphone. These devices may be operated from a desktop computer in the adjacent control room. Recordings can later be transcribed automatically on this computer using our subscription to Sonix transcription software.
