Alpha Kappa Psi (professional business fraternity)
Alpha Kappa Psi (AKΨ, or AKPsi) believes in developing academic and professional excellence in future business leaders (today’s college students) through the planning, execution and attendance of a variety of professional, social, service and fundraising events. AKΨ is open to students of all majors – no matter which field you choose to pursue, basic business skills can help you get there and will help you succeed once you do. Read more.

The Portland State University chapter of the American Marketing Association (AMA) is dedicated to providing you exclusive real-world experience that no textbook can teach. The purpose of the PSU:AMA is to gain hands-on experience, foster career growth, develop critical thinking, improve marketing methods and techniques and develop better understanding and appreciation of marketing problems. Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting
The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) is the largest Latino association for business professionals and students with chapters nationwide and over 15,000 members. ALPFA is dedicated to enhancing opportunities for Latinos and building leadership and career skills. ALPFA is a non-profit entity registered with the Internal Revenue Service. Beta Alpha Psi (accounting society)
Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) is an honorary organization for Financial Information students and professionals. The primary objective of Beta Alpha Psi is to encourage and give recognition to scholastic and professional excellence in the business information field. Membership in Beta Alpha Psi creates networking opportunities with firms, professionals and professors, increases access to the accounting recruiting process, and surrounds members with like-minded peers. Beta Gamma Sigma (AACSB National Business Scholastic Honor Society)
Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) is the international honor society serving business programs accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). Beta Gamma Sigma encourages and honors academic achievement in the study of business, fosters personal and professional excellence, advances the values of the Society and serves its lifelong members. The Entrepreneurship Club (E-Club) fosters entrepreneurship by turning ideas into businesses and organizations that impact the world and provide students with a path to pursuing their dreams. E-Club brings together aspiring student entrepreneurs to network, pool resources, share ideas and explore the entrepreneurial ecosystems on campus and in the greater Portland Metropolitan region. Financial Management Association
The Financial Management Association (FMA) of Portland State University acts as a direct liaison between students and business communities. Through professional speakers, company tours, internships and scholarships, students are provided with opportunities to develop leadership, gain professional training and make employment contacts. It is our goal to create as many opportunities as possible for students of the School of Business at PSU by creating a student culture that strives for success in the classroom and desires skills to succeed as professionals. FIR Advertising is a student-run, nonprofit advertising agency providing creative, account management, research, and media buying and planning services at no cost to clients in the Portland area. Students have the opportunity to apply lessons learned in the classroom to real-world projects and experience what it's like to produce work for real clients, all while building a valuable portfolio of work to present to employers in job interviews. In exchange, clients benefit from the expertise of PSU's award-winning advertising students to solve their business problems. FIR accepts 10 to 12 applicants into the agency each term. Students earn two credits P/NP in addition to experience to add to their resumes. Read more.
Human Resource Management Association
The Human Resource Management Association (HRMA) is a student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management, sponsored by the Portland Human Resource Management Association. PSU HRMA offers undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to expand their knowledge of HRM topics and to begin building a professional network for your future. Our professional network in the Portland area is extensive and comprised of top HR professionals. Net Impact’s mission is to serve PSU and the Portland community by enabling positive change through business in pursuit of a sustainable future. We want to inspire, educate and equip individuals to use the power of business to create a more socially and environmentally sustainable world. Net Impact members are current and emerging leaders in corporate responsibility, social entrepreneurship, nonprofit management, international development and environmental sustainability who are actively improving the world. Founded in 1996, the Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition is the only
national organization dedicated to workplace equity, diversity, and
inclusion by expanding opportunities for women in the Outdoor, Snow,
Bike, and Run Industries.
OIWC provides professional development, education, and leadership
programming that promotes women's advancement. With over 95 industry
partners, OIWC is the trusted resource for best practices and industry
models around gender equity, respect, and inclusion.
Here at Portland State we are honored to be the first Student
Affiliate of the national OIWC. We aim to connect tomorrow’s outdoor
industry leaders (our students) with today’s OIWC members and
resources to create lasting relationships and build strong networks.
Our goal is to bridge the worlds of business and academia to establish
an environment of shared learning and mentorship. The PSU Student
Affiliate extends a hand to the community to further the University’s
commitment of “knowledge to serve the city” while embodying the focus
of OIWC: professional development, education, and leadership.
The Supply and Logistics Management Association (SLMA) provides students with the opportunity to learn more about the supply and logistics field through networking events with local professionals and prepare students for their careers in the field. The SLMA also offers opportunities for students to practice and hone their knowledge and understanding as well as provide knowledge and talent to other student groups and the university. Read more.
Women in Business (WIB) is a newly formed student group at PSU aimed at addressing issues specific to women in business. The group aims to provide women with leadership, mentorship and networking opportunities with other undergraduate and graduate business students and local business professionals.
