Intramural Sports provide Campus Rec members of all skill levels with opportunities to participate in sports, make new friends, and be active in a safe, fun environment. Build community while playing in leagues, pickup games, tournaments, and events.

Intramural Sports offerings change every term and take place in the Rec Center and at Stott Field. Some of our Intramural offerings include: Basketball, Soccer (Indoor & Outdoor), Flag Football, Volleyball, Slowpitch Softball, Cornhole, Table Tennis, and Foam Archery. All in-person tournaments and events are free for Campus Rec members. No IM Play pass required. 

Proper COVID-19 precautions will be implemented to keep everyone safe.

Registration for spring Intramural tournaments opens on Monday, March 1 at 8 a.m. Register at Space is limited, so be sure to sign up early!

What better way to maintain physical distance than with a table tennis table between you and your opponent? Join us for a fun and safe singles tournament and compete for an Intramural champ t-shirt. Free and open to Campus Rec members. Register by 5 p.m. on April 12.

5v5 Zone Soccer Tournament

Come out and play in our 5v5 outdoor soccer tournament for all skill levels. Small goals, no goalies, face masks, and players must maintain physical distancing. Winners will receive an Intramural champ t-shirt. Free and open to Campus Rec members. Register by 5 p.m. on May 3.

Kickball Tournament

Show off your kickball skills, make new friends, and have some fun in the sun! Create a team of eight players or register as a free agent and be placed on a team with other free agents. Free and open to Campus Rec members. Register by 5 p.m. on May 10.

Badminton Singles Tournament

Thursday, May 20, 5 - 7:30 PM

Whether you're an experienced badminton player or just looking to participate in a fun competition, this tournament is for you. Each player will play at least two games to win an Intramural champ t-shirt. Free and open to Campus Rec members. Register by 5 p.m. on May 17.



Get the biggest bang for your buck and practice your skills in a fun, team environment with Intramural leagues. For only $10, Campus Rec members can play in any and all leagues, which consist of a four-week season, followed by one night of playoffs for the top four teams in each division. 


All league play requires an Intramural (IM) PLAY Pass. $10 term passes can be purchased at Member Services anytime during the term and grant unlimited league play during that term. $25 annual passses are available for purchase during fall term only.

Veterans, service members and dependents can pick up their coupon for a complimentary IM PLAY Pass at the Veterans Resource Center (Smith Memorial Student Union 401, 503.725.9807). Complimentary passes are made possible by a private donation. 

Register for Intramural Leagues

All participants must register for leagues as a team or free agent on Teams must have the minimum number of players paid and registered by the registration deadline. Teams that register by the Free Agent Roundup will be scheduled for a pre-season game.

Registration begins on the first day of each term at 8 a.m. and ends at 5 p.m. on the Wednesday of week 3 of each term or until the leagues fill up.The more popular leagues (soccer and basketball) typically fill within the first week of the term, so you are encouraged to create your team on IMLeagues as soon as possible. Teams will automatically be approved once the minimum number of paid players has been reached.

How to Play in Intramural Leagues

    3. Register as a Free Agent and attend the Free Agent Roundup
  3. Purchase your IM PLAY Pass at Member Services.
  4. Check for game schedules, rosters, scores, and standings.
  5. Have fun and make new friends!

What are the differences between leagues?

  • Mixed Leagues: Allow a maximum number of players of the same gender on the field/court.
  • Open Leagues: No gender rules.

Have fun and showcase your skills in our free Intramural tournaments. Play your favorite sports for one or two days without a long-term commitment. Tournament sports such as badminton and kickball are not offered as leagues, so you won’t want to miss out on these action-packed events. Tournament winners receive an Intramural championship t-shirt. 

All participants must register for tournaments as a team or free agent on Free Agents will be assigned on site. Registration for tournaments is open until the start of the tournament, unless stated otherwise. 


Pickup Games

Stay active and enjoy friendly competition without the commitment during our free pickup games! Advance your skills in a fun, team setting for all skill levels. All equipment is provided. No registration required. Just show up and play!

Equipment for Rent

PSU students and departments can rent sports equipment and space to play in various organized sports. Intramural Sports equipment is available to rent throughout the year for team building, training, or end of year celebrations. 

Price: All equipment rentals are FREE with the exception of Archery Tag and Bubble Balls.

Archery Tag and Bubble Balls are offered as a facilitated group activity for $40/hour (minimum of 10 participants for 1 hour).  The activity is led by 2 staff members on a court in the Rec Center and thus is dependent on staff and facility availability.  

To get started:  Please fill out the Intramural Sports Equipment Request Form and the Intramural Sports Coordinator will get back to you within two business days.  NOTE: A minimum of 2 weeks notice is required, 3 weeks notice for Archery Tag or Bubble Ball requests
