To support our goal of promoting a healthier campus, we created the Meet & Move Program for CREC members. All CREC members are invited to bring non-member guests for free to meet while walking or rolling on the track.
Need to brainstorm a research topic with your professor? Interested in networking with a campus colleague? Have a walk or roll meeting on the CREC Track. Walking meetings can help improve creativity, engagement and focus as well as decrease the “hierarchical” feel that can be present when a desk is between people. And moving is great for your physical wellbeing! Here’s a link to a quick TED Talk about walking meetings and another link to an article about them.
How To Have a Walk/Roll Meeting:
- CREC member and Meet & Move guest (PSU faculty or staff) meet at Member Services
- CREC member says they are here for a walking meeting and scans in.
- PSU faculty or staff member signs the waiver, signs the log chart and gets a Meet & Move lanyard
- CREC member and Meet & Move guest have meeting on the track and then leave CREC together.
Important Notes:
- This is not a free workout pass for the Rec Center. Non-members will stay with the CREC member and leave after the walking meeting.
- You can of course walk with another member at any time; just scan in and walk.
- There are even more benefits to walking outside in nature - that’s encouraged as well. Stop by the Outdoor Program for ideas for walking locations around campus.
