Congratulations on being admitted to Portland State University. You’re well on your way to becoming a Viking. There are a few steps you need to take before you will begin school at PSU. Review and complete the items below as soon as you can.

Check Your @pdx.edu Email Account
Once you’ve set up your student account, your PSU email address will be activated. You will continue to receive email correspondence about your next steps and opportunities through the email address you used to apply. However, you should check your PSU account regularly for current student communications.
Apply for Campus Housing
Students are able to complete a Housing Contract once they have been admitted to Portland State University. To apply, you must have set up your student account (see above). You can log in to the Housing Portal 24 hours after you've activated your student account. Learn more about your housing options. You must be admitted to PSU to submit a housing contract.
The priority deadline to submit a contract is June 1. Students who apply by this date and are open to any unit option will be guaranteed housing.

These webinars are an opportunity for you and your family to get to know Portland State better. You’ll get to learn about financial aid, campus housing options, academics, and participate in a live question and answer session with admissions representatives.
Confirm Your Enrollment at PSU*
If you are ready to commit you can confirm your enrollment and claim your Viking status by paying PSU’s nonrefundable $200 tuition deposit by the May 1 priority deadline. Enrollment confirmation is required to sign up for New Student Orientation, secure a PSU ID card and register for classes. The tuition deposit will appear as a credit on your first tuition bill. Financially eligible students are exempt from paying the $200 tuition deposit, but must still confirm they are coming to PSU prior to signing up for Orientation.
Complete Your Math Placement Test (if required)
Students with majors specified here probably need to complete the math placement test prior to signing up for Orientation. Find out if you need to take the Math Placement Test.
Sign Up for and Complete New Student Orientation*
Online Orientation will provide you with details about campus life, student services, and degree requirements. Completion of online Orientation is required for all incoming undergraduate students and provides you with course registration access for your first term at PSU. Sign up for online Orientation and learn about how you can connect with PSU students and staff in preparation for your first term at PSU.
Review and Accept Your Financial Aid Award
Log in to your student account and view your award. See if you have any outstanding requirements and if you have questions contact the Office of Financial Aid.
Submit Final Transcripts by August 1*
Contact your school office to request official copies of your final transcripts to be sent to Portland State. You are required to submit transcripts from all schools and colleges you've attended. Review the Transfer Admission Requirements and Official Records Policy for more information and instructions for sending transcripts and other documents to PSU.
Review Your Health Insurance Options
PSU requires that all domestic students enrolled in five in-load, non-restricted differential tuition credits or more per term maintain comprehensive health insurance to ensure that students stay healthy and in the classroom. The PSU Health Insurance Plan is major medical health insurance providing preventative, routine, and specialized health benefits and students are automatically enrolled and billed each term. Those who have comparable outside health insurance can apply to waive the PSU Health Insurance Plan.
Submit MMR Vaccine Form
Oregon law requires domestic students show evidence of immunity to measles before registering for their second term of enrollment.
Get Your PSU ID Card
If you are planning to come to campus at all this fall, you will need a PSU ID to get access to campus buildings. You can get your new student ID card in-person once you are registered for fall term courses. ID Services is open Mondays and Wednesdays 12 PM - 2 PM. No appointment needed.
If you don’t plan to come to campus for fall term, you can wait to get your student ID until you arrive on campus.
Complete the Required Understanding Sexual Misconduct and Available Resources Campus Module*
Log in to D2L (PSU’s Learning Management System). “Under My Courses > Ongoing” select “Creating a Safe Campus: Preventing Gender Discrimination, Sexual Harassment, Sexual Misconduct and Sexual Assault” and complete the learning module.
