New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation is an essential part of your undergraduate college experience, provides a foundation for success, and is required for all incoming undergraduate students. New Student Orientation will provide you with details about campus life, student services, degree requirements, and, upon completion, will provide you with course registration access for your first term.

Non-degree, postbaccalaureate, and graduate students are not required to complete New Student Orientation, however, there may be orientation requirements specific to your program, contact your department for more information.

Co-Admitted Students

If you are co-admitted, you must attend an Orientation session for the term you plan to start classes at PSU. We will send you an email each term with a reminder to sign up for Orientation for that upcoming term.

Orientation Dates

New Student Orientation is offered each term leading up to the start of the term. You must sign up for and attend New Student Orientation to get access to register for classes. You must confirm enrollment to get access to sign up for orientation. Review PSU’s enrollment confirmation deadlines and other important enrollment dates for more information.

Log in your portal to view and sign up for a session. If session dates do not display in your portal they are either full or you are not eligible to sign up for those sessions.

Fall 2026April 1, 2026Sessions take place in July and August. Exact dates will be shared when they’re available.

If you are unable to attend an in-person Orientation, you can submit a request to complete the Online Orientation course. Requests are reviewed regularly and approved on a case-by-case basis. The Online Orientation course becomes available after the in-person sessions have completed. We strongly encourage you to attend in-person for the best possible experience.

Benefits of Attending In-Person Orientation

  • You’ll get earlier access to register for classes. Online Orientation isn’t available until after the in-person sessions have been completed.
  • You’ll meet with academic advisors for additional support and guidance
  • Coming to campus means you’ll get everything done all at once. Otherwise you will have to complete the Online Orientation course, make an appointment with an academic advisor, and get your student ID all at different times.
  • The best thing about coming to campus is meeting with PSU staff, faculty, and other students face-to-face to start building your PSU community.

How to Sign Up for Orientation
