Spring people

 

  1. Jola Ajibade, geography faculty, served as a panelist and role model expert at Environmental Science Camp for high school students organized by Career Girls on April 28. 
  2. Cristina Herrera, Chicano/Latino studies faculty and director, was awarded the Children's Literature Association 2022 Edited Book Award for her co-edited volume, “Nerds, Goths, Geeks, and Freaks: Outsiders in Chicanx and Latinx Young Adult Literature.”
  3. Larry Kominz, world languages and literatures faculty, was awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, one of Japan’s highest honors, for his contributions to the introduction of Japanese culture in the U.S. and the promotion of mutual understanding between Japan and the U.S. 
  4. Jack Straton, physics and university studies faculty, had one of his photographs chosen to be part of Through The Lens at the Marin Society of Artists in San Rafael, California, from Sept. 26-Nov. 26, 2021.
