Cognos is a data warehouse solution used to run reports for strategic decisions and daily operations. Cognos is updated nightly with Banner student, finance and payroll information. For department schedulers, access to both Academic Scheduling and Student reports can be requested.
Cognos Access
Department Schedulers can request access by completing an OAM Access Request for Cognos in the Odin Account Manager at oam.pdx.edu. Please note, you will want to check both the General and Student checkboxes in the request. Detailed instructions for the access request can be found on OIT's Cognos webpage.
Cognos Reports
After receiving access confirmation, go to the Cognos website and login with your Odin login and password. Click on the Academic Scheduling or Student folder. To run a report, click on the report name. Enter all required prompts and any additional prompts if necessary. Click the Finish button on the bottom of the page to run the report. You can view the results in PDF or Excel formats by clicking on the View in HTML Format icon.
