Student Guide to Course Delivery Methods

PSU offers a variety of course delivery methods to allow for flexible class scheduling. You will see course delivery methods when browsing the class schedule in the Registration Hub found in the Class section of the Academics page of myPSU. Each course is assigned one of the following delivery methods, describing the "time and place" of the class.

COURSE DELIVERY METHODS

  • In Person: Direct instruction delivered in person, with scheduled class meetings. 
  • Hybrid: Direct instruction delivered through a reduced number of in person class sessions, supplemented with either digital or self-guided instruction.
  • Online - Scheduled Meetings*: Online courses that include required meeting times.
  • Online - No Scheduled Meetings*: Online courses that do not have required meeting times.
  • Department Arranged: Courses that require individual coordination with the department or instructor. This designation is used primarily for Dissertation, Thesis, Internship, or Project credits.

*An additional online course fee of $22 per credit is assessed for online courses.

1. The course delivery method will display in the course listing under the course title.

2. Click the course title to display all course details. From the menu in this window click Course Description & Notes to display course specific information about meeting times and delivery method.

HOW TO SEARCH FOR COURSE DELIVERY METHODS

1. From the Academics page, in the Classes section, select Registration Hub, then Register for Classes or Browse Class Schedule and select the term you would like to view.

2. Search for a specific course or select Advanced Search to search by any course criteria, including course delivery method.
