Federal VA Benefits

Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® (Chapter 33): Available to all military personnel who served at least 90 days of active duty after Sept. 11, 2001.

Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® Yellow Ribbon Program: A component of the Post 9/11 G.I. Bill® that assists non-resident students with the cost of out-of-state tuition.

Choice Act (HR 3230): A federal program that grants the equivalent of resident tuition and fee rates to qualified students using CH 30 or CH 33 benefits.

Veteran Readiness and Employment (Chapter 31): A selective program for disabled veterans who have been approved through the VA.

Survivors and Dependents Education Assistance Program (Chapter 35): This benefit is for survivors and dependents of 100% service-connected disabled veterans.

Montgomery G.I. Bill® (Chapter 30): G.I. Bill® predating Post 9/11 benefits.

Montgomery G.I. Bill®/Select Reserve (Chapter 1606): Benefits for Guard and Reservists who signed at least a 6-year enlistment with their unit.

Tuition Assistance (TA): This benefit is for active-duty or Guard/Reserve troops and must be submitted to the 3rd party billing office.

State of Oregon Benefits

Dependent's/Purple Heart Tuition Waiver: This program waives tuition (not including fees) for eligible dependents of 100% disabled or deceased veterans, or for dependents of those who received a Purple Heart in 2001 or after.

Voyager Program: A benefit for Oregon Guard and Reservists who have served in an "area of imminent danger" and can apply for the benefit with the school.

House Bill 2158: A benefit that will reduce tuition costs for non-resident veterans who were admitted to an Oregon University System school for Fall 2013 or after.

House Bill 4021: This benefit is a tuition and fee remission for qualified graduate students who are not residents of Oregon and were admitted to a graduate program Fall 2014 or later.

House Bill 2571: A benefit for tuition and fee remission for qualified undergraduate students who are not residents of Oregon and were admitted prior to Fall 2013.
