Civil Engineering Students Awarded SEAO Foundation Scholarships

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is proud to announce that students Tod Richards and Garrett Duncan have been awarded a combined $6,500 in scholarships by the Structural Engineers Association of Oregon (SEAO) Scholarship Foundation for the 2023-2024 academic year. Both pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Tod and Garrett's peer mentorship and dedication to the profession were instrumental in their selection for these awards.
 
Tod Richards Receives Susan M. Frey Memorial Scholarship

Tod Richards has been selected as the recipient of the prestigious Susan M. Frey Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship recognizes his dedication to structural engineering and aims to carry forward the memory of Susan M. Frey, celebrating her outstanding contributions to the field of structural engineering, her commitment to mentorship, and her service to professional societies. Richards' stewardship of student-organized study groups was one of many laudable accomplishments that align with her legacy.

Garrett Duncan Receives SEAO Scholarship

Garrett Duncan has been chosen as one of the SEAO scholarship recipients for the upcoming academic year. This award supports Duncan's pursuit of academic excellence and achievement of his goals in the field of structural engineering. Duncan's role as 2023 captain of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) Steel Bridge team was one of many demonstrations of outstanding leadership which this award recognizes.
