A student can grant proxy access to a variety of pages in the Student Self-Service portal (i.e. the student registration and records system).
This proxy access allows someone other than the student to use their own username and password to review the information provided to the student in the Student Self-Service portal.
This access request is initiated by the student via Proxy Management in the My Account Resources menu of my.pdx.edu and can be revoked by the student at any time.
To navigate to the Proxy Management system from the myPSU Dashboard, go to "View more in Account" and select "Add My Parent as a Proxy for Me" to get to the Proxy Management menu (note: this will allow the student to add any third party as a proxy, not only a parent).
Once the student has submitted a request to have a proxy added three emails will be sent.
- The first email will notify the proxy that the student has begun the process and will provide the URL to begin the account set up.
- The second email will provide the temporary password to use during the initial set up. At this point the proxy will set up their username and password using the information provided.
- The third email will provide a URL to use to access the Banner Web portal once the username and password have been set. This email should be kept for future reference.
If you have questions about the technical aspects of setting up proxy access, contact the help desk for additional support.
If you have questions about the student information visible once proxy access has been granted, please contact the appropriate department. Please note, if the student does not have a Consent to Release Non-Directory Information form on file the department will not be able to discuss the specifics of a student’s account with someone other than the student.
