Have you heard of forest bathing (or shinrin-yoku in Japanese)? This practice comes from the Japanese, who researched the health benefits of spending intentional time in the forest. On the most basic level, forest bathing is a slow and quiet walk in the forest. It is not a workout—the typical forest bath does not cover much ground and moves at an unhurried pace. Join the Outdoor Program for a walk through Hoyt Arboretum, where we will use all of our senses to “bathe” in the forest.

Difficulty Level

Easy: Relatively low to moderate physical activity; no previous experience needed.

Registration Deadline & Pre-Trip Meeting: Sign up in person at the Outdoor Program office located at 505 SW Harrison Street on August 3 at 5:00 pm.
