International Student Orientation

Attending International Student Orientation is your chance to learn how to navigate international student resources and support services, learn about F-1 and J-1 immigration documents and regulations, complete the mandatory immigration check-in process, take a tour of campus, and meet your International Student Mentor.

Step 1: Confirm Enrollment

All newly admitted students must confirm enrollment to guarantee your spot at PSU. In order to register for New Student Orientation, you must first confirm your enrollment. If you have already confirmed your enrollment, proceed to Step 2. If you have not confirmed your enrollment, do so now.

Step 2: Sign Up for Orientation

Once you have confirmed your enrollment, you can sign up for your orientation date and time. Sessions fill up fast, so be sure to sign up soon. It is recommended you sign up for the earliest orientation session you are able to attend. At Orientation, you will register for classes. By attending an earlier session, you will have a wider selection of classes to choose from during course registration.

Step 3: Complete Online Orientation

All International Students who sign up for International Student Orientation will be automatically signed up for the New Student Orientation Online Module and should be completed as soon as possible. Once you complete the New Student Orientation Online Module you will be able to register for classes. The earlier you register for classes, the better. You are required to complete the New Student Orientation Online Module prior to your on-campus International Student Orientation session. Online orientation for fall term opens June 28, 2019.

Information about completing the New Student Orientation Online Module will be emailed to your email address.

If you currently live in the Portland metropolitan area or will be here prior to your International Student Orientation session, you may be able to attend an on-campus orientation session at which you can register for your first term of classes. Contact to learn more.

Step 3: Prepare for Orientation

From pre-orientation modules to placement exams, final transcripts and immunization records, take care of the items included here that must be completed before Orientation and course registration.
