PSU Wayfinder Tours

Portland State University hosts a program each year for high school college counselors who are interested in learning more about Portland State University and Oregon Health & Science University. Our universities cover the cost of travel, lodging, and meals for all attendees. Join our email list to get notified when this event is happening.

Instant Viking

Portland State’s Instant Viking events provide your students with the support needed to complete their PSU application quickly and confidently. Admission counselors will conduct a live application walkthrough, ensuring that your students fill out the application correctly prior to discussing next steps. PSU waives the $60 application fee for all students applying to the university during Instant Viking events. Registered students whose transcripts are provided ahead of time will receive an admissions decision at the event. Counselors can request an Instant Viking be held at their school.

Preview Day

Preview Day is Portland State's annual fall open house for prospective high school juniors and seniors to explore the opportunities that await them at Oregon’s urban public university. We invite you to join us at Preview and to share this event with your students.

Bridges

Bridges is a half-day program for high school juniors and seniors from diverse and/or first generation backgrounds who are exploring college opportunities. Our goal is to inform students about college resources and engage students with PSU’s academic support to cultivate a college-going culture. Bridges is an opportunity for you and your students to get to know Portland State University and experience our dynamic urban campus. PSU hosts a counselor lunch to highlight your important role in helping PSU cultivate a college-going culture for Oregon students.

Viking Scholars

Viking Scholars is a reception held each spring to recognize high-achieving high school juniors from Oregon on Portland State’s campus and honor their hard work and the commitment of their teachers, counselors, mentors, and communities. We invite Oregon high school counselors to nominate students each year.
