Community Beautification

The Community Beautification Fund is a way for residents to propose large-scale improvements to the communities in which they live. The information below will guide those interested students in making a proposal to access the community beautification account.

There are many steps to requesting funds from the Community Beautification account. First, residents must fill out the Community Beautification Proposal Form and submit it to the RHA executive board. There are two things to note before completing this form:

  • Residents, as defined by the RHA constitution, are any non-UHRL staff living on the Portland State Campus who pay the UHRL activity fee. Non-eligible residents include UHRL student staff members or professional staff, or any students residing in University Pointe.
  • Not all submissions will be approved, and additional information may be required before funds are allocated to a proposal.

In the proposal, you will need to included a detailed explanation of the project as well as an itemized budget. Because of the extent of certain projects, it is important that all coordinating campus departments be contacted and consulted before submitting a proposal.

All proposals also will require a UHRL professional staff sponsor. For a list of professional staff members, please go to the University Housing and Residence Life student services office in Brodaway 210.

Once you have completed and submitted the online proposal, you mist also submit a student petition to the RHA showing that you have the suppor of yours and surrounding communities. This petition can be dropped off at the RHA officer in 103 Montgomery Court. Please clearly mark you petion (person submitting the proposal, proposal name, contact information and staple all pages together.

A copy of the petition form can be found here

If, at any point, you have any questions, please contact the Residence Hall Association (rha@pdx.edu).
