About the Department of Housing & Residence Life
Welcome to Portland State University Housing and Residence Life! Living on campus is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy University life at its fullest. We are committed to making your living experience safe and memorable.
Portland State's 10 residence halls are more than just buildings. Our urban campus houses over 2100 students from all different backgrounds and cultures. We provide housing options for first year, transfer, graduate, international, and non-traditional students. There are many opportunities for all of our residents to get involved in their residence hall community by joining their hall council (student government), attending social, educational and multicultural programs, or by stopping in to our in-hall academic support centers.
Our mission is to provide a unique living experience in Portland's urban environment through actively engaged residential communities that promote student success. We do this through intentional programming aimed at helping students with various transitions of life, ultimately guiding them toward completing their college degree(s).
