To set up mailbox, write first and last name on a slip of paper and put it in your mailbox. Mail that is too large to fit in your mailbox will be sent to the Montgomery Service Desk.

Packages

The Montgomery Service Desk logs all packages within 48 hours of they are received. When your package is ready to be picked up, you will receive an email notification. You can also check the housing portal to see if you have a package ready for pick up. If you think your package was delivered but you didn’t receive an email notification from the Montgomery Service Desk, please email mbdesk@pdx.edu with your tracking number. 

Once you receive an email notification that your package is ready, please bring your ID to pick your package at the Montgomery Service Desk. Packages are held for up to 12 days then returned to sender. If you know you will be out of town and unable to pick up your package within 12 days, please contact the Montgomery Service Desk. If you would like someone else to pick up your package, respond to the package notification email with the first and last name of the person picking up your package.

Packages addressed to a family member will be logged under the contract holding resident’s name. Family members, including children over the age of 10, can pick up all packages under the account with a photo ID.
 
The Montgomery Service Desk accepts packages from USPS, FedEx, UPS, Amazon, OnTrac, and DHL only. We do not accept packages from any other carriers. Students will need to make alternate arrangements with other carriers. The desk accepts flowers and medications, but we are not able to refrigerate any deliveries. Any other perishable items will not be accepted, including Hello Fresh, Imperfect Produce, and other meal services. Students seeking delivery of perishable items should contact the delivery source and plan for how to ship and receive such items. Prohibited items such as alcohol, tobacco, weapons, and animals will be denied and returned to sender.

Outgoing Mail

Outgoing mail slots are located in the main lobby of Blumel, Broadway, Ondine, and Stephen Epler. Students living in Montgomery, Blackstone, King Albert, and St. Helens can send letters out via the nearest USPS Collection Box. There is one at 1812 SW 10th Ave.

Outgoing Packages

To send packages, students are encouraged to use the nearest USPS or UPS Store. 

Lockouts

To protect our residents during this period of physical distancing and essential personnel only, we urge you to make every effort to avoid lockout situations.  This is to ensure your own safety, the safety of our staff, and to prevent long waits for assistance.  Consider hanging your keys on the doorknob. Be sure to take your keys and ID with you when you take out the garbage or do laundry.
