A Tribute to Mary Hall Kogen

School of Music & Theater faculty members Susan Chan, Hamilton Cheifetz, Chuck Dillard, Darrell Grant, Julia Lee, Lisa Marsh and Connie Titterington honor the memory of their colleague Mary Hall Kogen with this concert.

Professor Emerita Mary Hall Kogen (1944-2022) was a treasured member of the School of Music & Theater community, teaching piano and pedagogy for 26 years before retiring in 2003. An expert in how people learn, Mary spearheaded pedagogy workshops on learning through curiosity and play to music educators, schools and groups nationwide. She played a significant role in the development of the School's Coordinate Movement Program, which promotes well-being and injury prevention in musicians. The tribute will benefit the Mary Hall Kogen Coordinate Movement Scholarship.
