Bret Williams studied with Terry Mills at the University of the Pacific. He then received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas at Austin, where he studied under the tutelage of Adam Holzman. He continued his studies at Mannes School in New York, where he studied with Fred Hand, Michael Newman, and Terry Chaplain.
After completing his master’s degree, he formed the La Vita-Williams Guitar Duo with partner Giacomo La Vita. Bret completed his first album featuring solo guitar compositions and chamber compositions (clarinet, violin, guitar, bass). His most recent album features Seven Original Pieces for Solo Guitar. Bret Williams has a robust concert schedule and multiple recordings.
