Committee Members
Campus Safety Committee members are volunteer members that represent the campus community. Members bring health and safety concerns to the committee and also relay information back to their department or groups. Members are asked to serve a minimum of two years on the committee but may remain for as long as they wish. Members are also responsible for attending at least eight of the 12 annual meetings and may be asked to step down if lack of participation is a concern to the committee.
A list of current committee members may be found on the Campus Safety Committee Members webpage.
We're happy to have you! If you are interested in becoming a member please contact the Campus Safety Committee group. A member of the group will reach out to provide more details.
Chairperson
The Chairperson is nominated and elected by the committee and serves a two-year term. Terms begin at the beginning of the fiscal year following the previous two-year term. The Chairperson is responsible for directing meetings, preparing reports, and communicating with upper management, when necessary.
Vice Chairperson
The Vice Chairperson is nominated and elected by the committee and serves a two-year term. The Vice Chairperson assists the Chairperson and supports any sub-committees, when necessary. They also may fill in for the Chairperson in the event they are unable to attend the meeting. If the Chairperson steps down from their position during their term, the Vice Chairperson shall assume the Chairperson role until the end of the current term.

If a committee member is unable to attend a meeting they should make every effort to have another member of their department or group attend as a proxy.
