Mandatory Initial Courses Assigned at Time of Hire (FTE/Temp)
Safety Skills
The following courses will be automatically assigned to the employee through Safety Skills:
- Bloodborne Pathogens Awareness, 40 minutes
- Confined Space Awareness, 15 minutes
- Hazard Communication, 30 minutes
- Industrial Ergonomics, 20 minutes
- Ladder Safety, 15 minutes
- Lockout/Tagout Affected Employee, 15 minutes
- Safe Driving, 25 minutes
- Silica Awareness and Silica Awareness for Construction, 15 minutes and 20 minutes
- Small Spill Response, 20 minutes
- Spotter Safety, 15 minutes
- Universal Waste Management, 25 minutes
- Utility Cart Safety, 25 minutes
Canvas
The following courses must be completed in Canvas by self-registering. Employees will receive communication about when and how to register for these courses.
- Heat Illness Prevention, 20 minutes
- Protection from Wildfire Smoke, 20 minutes
In-Person
The following courses will be required for the employee to attend in-person and should be coordinated through EHS:
- Asbestos Awareness, 2 hours
- Asbestos O&M, off-site, 16 hours
- Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Control, 2 hours
- Lead Management Safety, 2 hours
- Lead RRP, off-site, 8 hours
- Silica Competent Person, 2 hours
Requirements
The courses listed are assigned to full-time and temporary employees as initial safety training at the time of hire, depending on the individual employee's job title. Not all courses are required for every employee.
