Transcript Requests

Your transcript is the official record of all PSU course work and academic history. 

Portland State University has authorized Parchment Inc. to manage the ordering, processing, and secure delivery of PSU transcripts.

Parchment offers many benefits, including:

  • Secure, on-line access to request your transcript 24/7.
  • Email notification when transcripts are processed and received.
  • On-line tracking ability.
  • The option to request electronic delivery of your official transcript.
How to Order Official Transcripts

1. Log in to Banweb.

  • Current Students: Click "Log in with your ODIN account," to log in with your ODIN ID and password, or click "Log in with your PSU ID Number," to use your PSU ID# and password.
  • Alumni: Click "Login with your PSU ID number," enter your PSU ID Number, enter your password and click "Login"

2. Once you have successfully logged in, select the "Student Services" tab

3. Select "Student Records"

4. Select "Order Official Transcript"

5. Click "Parchment" (this will take you to the secure Parchment transcript ordering page)

  • If this is your first time logging in, you will be asked to confirm your contact information.

6. Follow the on screen prompts to order your official transcript(s)

  • Select Destination Type (organization or school, yourself, or another individual)
  • Select Product Type (pdf eTranscript, paper mailed, or paper pick-up)
  • Enter Order Details and Payment information
  • Review and Confirm to submit your order
  • A confirmation and receipt will be emailed to you.
I Don't Know my Login Information

I don't know my PSU ID: If you have forgotten your PSU ID number, or your previous ID number was your Social Security number, you may contact the Office of the Registrar at 503.725.3511 to obtain your ID number.

I know my PSU ID but I don't know my password: If you have issues with your login, please go to oam.pdx.edu,  enter your ID number or username and click "Forgot Password?" Follow instructions on the screen to reset your password. If you are still unable to log in, please contact the Help Desk at 503.725.4357.

I Was Never Issued a Unique PSU ID Number

All students who attended PSU after 1981 were issued a unique PSU ID number. I fyou do not know your PSU ID number, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 503.725.3511.

Students who attended before 1981 may go directly to the Parchment Ordering page and create an account to make your request. Follow the instructions below to create your account. You are only required to to set up an account one time. If you have already created a log in, follow the "returning user" instructions below.

New User

  1. Click HERE to access the Parchment Ordering page.
  2. Click "Create Account"
  3. Complete the registration page
    (note: it is very important that you complete as much of the requested information as possible. This will ensure that your request is matched to your complete student record).
  4. Follow the on screen prompts to order your official transcript(s)
    • Select Destination Type (organization or school, yourself, or another individual)
    • Select Product Type (pdf eTranscript, paper mailed, or paper pick-up)
    • Enter Order Details and Payment information
    • Review and Confirm to submit your order
    • A confirmation and receipt will be emailed to you.

Returning User

  1. Click HERE to access the Parchment Ordering page.
  2. Under Returning Users, enter the email and password you used for your initial log in. If you have forgotten your password, click "forgot your password?" to reset.
  3. Click "Sign In"
  4. Follow the on screen prompts to order your official transcript(s)
    • Select Destination Type (organization or school, yourself, or another individual)
    • Select Product Type (pdf eTranscript, paper mailed, or paper pick-up)
    • Enter Order Details and Payment information
    • Review and Confirm to submit your order
    • A confirmation and receipt will be emailed to you.
I Am Applying Through an Application System (such as AMCAS)

If you need to have a transcript mailed with a cover sheet, or other enclosed form, you will not be able to place your order in Parchment. Instead, submit the Transcript Special Request Form with your completed attachment to the Office of the Registrar.  Transcripts are $5 each.  You may choose regular mail (3-5 day processing) for no additional charge or regular mail with expedited processing (1 day processing) for an additional $10 Processing Fee.  Domestic FedEx is also available for an additional $25 fee.  Please note that processing time does not include mail delivery time.

I Need to Make a Special Request

There are a few types of requests that aren't available through Parchment.  The following types of requests can be ordered with the Transcript Special Request Form:

  • Same Day Pick-up
  • Faxed Transcript
  • Notarized Transcript
  • Include Enclosure/Cover Sheet with a Paper Transcript
  • Legacy Unofficial Transcript (attendance prior to 1991 only)

Special Request transcripts are $5 per copy. Same Day Pick-up, Fax and Rush Mailed all have a $10 processing fee per order.  Legacy Unofficial Transcripts do not have a fee.

I Need to Include an Enclosure/Cover Sheet With My Transcript

Parchment allows you to attach supporting documents to eTranscripts (please verify with the recipient that they will accept eTranscripts).  Simply attach your completed form or other supporting document when entering your "order details" in Parchment.  Please note that attached documentation must be completed prior to submitting your request to Parchment.

If you need to have a transcript mailed with an enclosed form or other document, you will not be able to place your order in Parchment.  Instead, submit the Transcript Special Request Form with your completed attachment to the Office of the Registrar.  Transcripts are $5 each.  You may choose regular mail (3-5 day processing) for no additional charge or regular mail with expedited processing (1 day processing) for an additional $10 Processing Fee.  Domestic FedEx is also available for an additional $25 fee.  Please note that processing time does not include mail delivery time.

I Need to Send my Transcript to a Specific Department Within an Institution

Sending to a PSU Department or Other PSU Office

If you need to send your transcript to another department within the PSU campus (such as a graduate department or scholarship committee) do not select "Portland State University" from the institution search results. This will not give you the option to send your transcript to a specific department/office. Instead, follow these instructions after logging in to Parchment:

  • Click the "Search" button (do not enter a destination)
  • Click the "Enter your own" button
  • Select the product type
    • eTranscript (you will need to enter your recipient's email address)
    • Mailed (enter the delivery address of the department/office)
    • Pickup (you can pick up your paper transcript at the Registrar's Office)
  • Select your order options and enter recipient information
  • Complete your order

Sending to Departments within Other Institutions

If you need to send your PSU transcript to a specific department or office within another institution follow these instructions after logging in to Parchment:

  • Click the "Search" button (do not enter a destination)
  • Click the "Enter your own" button
  • Select the product type
    • eTranscript (you will need to enter your recipient's email address)
    • Mailed (enter the delivery address of the department/office)
    • Pickup (you can pick up your paper transcript at the PSU Registrar's Office) and deliver it to the other institution yourself
  • Select your order options and enter recipient information
  • Complete your order
Third Party Transcript Requests

Colleges, universities or businesses who are requesting official PSU transcripts on behalf of a student must submit the following:

  1. A third party records release signed by the student which includes the student's name, previous names, dates of attendance, date of birth, and last 4 digits of the SSN (optional).
    -or-
  2. For faxed transcripts submit a Transcript Special Request Form filled out and signed by the student.

Third party transcript requests cost $5 per transcript plus an additional $10 processing fee per order. 

FAQs

How much do transcripts cost?

Official transcripts cost $5 per copy.  Parchment accepts Visa, Mastercard and Discover.
There is an additional $10 processing fee for Pick-up transcripts.  Also, there is an additional fee for transcripts requested to be mailed via FedEx ($25 domestic, $40 international).

What if I need my final grades or degree on my transcript?

Option 1: Order your official transcript after your grades and/or degree appear on your online unofficial transcript.
Option 2: When ordering your transcript, select "Hold for Grades" or "Hold for Degree" (this can be done in the current term only). Please note that if you need to hold for grades and degree, you can just select "Hold for Degree" when making your request.

What if I need to include another document with my transcript?

What is a "Legacy" transcript?

Any student whose academic record at Portland State includes any attendance in 1991 or before has a "legacy" record. Please select the Legacy option when ordering your transcripts.

What if I have a hold on my account?

Transcripts cannot be released if a financial hold is placed on a student's record. Please refer to the Financial Hold Policy for more information.

What if I have a special request for my transcript order?

If you have a special request, such as notarization or you need the transcript to be faxed, you can submit a Transcript Special Request Form to the Office of the Registrar.  Please note that special request transcripts are $5 per copy plus an additional $10 processing fee per order.

How do I authorize someone else to pick up my transcript?

To authorize another person to pick up your paper transcript at the Registrar's Office, you must enter that person's name in the "Recipient Name" field when ordering the transcript.  If you didn't include their name on the request, you may send a signed memo with the recipient authorizing them to pick up your transcript.  The person you authorize to pick up must bring their own photo ID.

What if I need to pick up my transcript right away (on the same day I submit my request)?

To pick up your transcript on same day you request it, you must submit a Transcript Special Request Form to the Registration windows in Neuberger Hall. Your transcript will be processed while you wait.  Please note that Same Day Pick-up transcripts are $5 per copy plus an additional $10 processing fee per order.

How long is my transcript download good for?

eTranscripts are available for download for 30 days from the initial request. An eTranscript can be downloaded a total of seven times within the 30 day period.

How do I get an Unofficial Transcript?

To view or print your Unofficial Transcript, follow the instructions above, but select "View Unofficial Academic Transcript" from the Student Records menu.  You will be able to view your unnofficial transcript and print it from your browser. If you are a "Legacy" student (attendance prior to 1991) you may order your unofficial transcript at no cost via the Transcript Special Request Form.

Can my transcript be sent via FedEx?

If you are requesting your transcript to be mailed, you can select the FedEx delivery option. This option is available for both domestic and international delivery addresses. The fee for each transcript is $5 plus an additional $25 for domestic orders or $40 for international. Please be aware of the following:

  • Domestic FedEx orders are sent via overnight delivery. International orders can require some extra time. Please refer to the FedEx tracking information provided in your confirmation email for delivery times.
  • FedEx orders are not delivered on Saturdays or Sundays. If you place your order before 2:30 PST on a Friday, you can expect delivery on Monday.
  • FedEx does not deliver to PO Box addresses. If you place an order with a PO Box delivery address, your order will automatically be changed to USPS Priority Mail which has a longer delivery time.

How can I track my transcript order?

When logged in to Parchment, you can track the status of your transcript request by clicking "Order Status" at the top of the page and selecting the order your wish to track.

How long will it take to receive my transcript?

eTranscript: within 24 hours
Mail: 1-3 days processing, plus standard USPS delivery
Pick-up: Orders placed before midnight will be available for pick-up the next business day after 3:00 pm.

Please note that processing time may increase due to high volume at certain times of the year (i.e. end of term grade roll, approaching application and scholarship deadlines).
