First Year Housing

Students under the age of 20 and who graduated high school less than a year prior to enrolling at PSU qualify for our First Year Experience program. First Year students who live more than 25 miles from campus are required to live in University Housing for their first year.

Transfer & Continuing

At Portland State, we have more transfer, continuing, and graduate students living on campus than first year students. Our apartment style living complements your needs, with in-unit kitchens and private bathrooms in most units.

Graduate students are welcome to live in any of our housing buildings. Most live in Blumel Hall for its apartment style feel.

Important Dates & Announcements

The 2025-2026 and Summer Housing Contracts are now open!
*New, incoming students can log in to the Housing Portal to sign up for Housing. Assignments are made on a first-come, first-serve system, housing assignments are being made now. Apply early to reserve your spot!
Check your @pdx.edu email address to receive your assignment and accept your space.

May 6: Second Payment deadline for Spring Term payment Plan
Mid-May: Sign up for Fall Move-in Timeslots in the Housing Portal
May 26: Memorial Day, PSU Closed
June 6: Final Payment deadline for Spring Term payment plan
June 14th: Spring Move-Out is 24 hours after your last final, and no later than Noon on Saturday, June 14th if your last final is on June 16th. Residents with a reserved space for Summer do not need to move out.
