Comer, world languages and literatures faculty, was interviewed by KGW’s Bryant Clerkley in “Portland’s Russian Speaking Communities Embrace Family, Community and Faith.” Berrin Erdogan, business faculty, was a panelist on “Q&A with Journal Editors” as part of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Doctoral and Early Career Faculty Consortia on April 1. Óscar Fernández, university studies, created and facilitated a self-guided eWorkshop titled “Journaling with QTBIPOC Students: Tips for Crafting Affirming, Personal Statements for Scholarship/Job Applications” for the 2021 Virtual Queer Students of Color Conference (QSOC), organized by Portland State University’s Queer Resource Center, from May 28-30. Cynthia Carmina Gómez, Cultural Resource Centers executive director, completed an Institute for the Future Foresight Essentials Practitioner Certificate in May 2021. Clive Knights, architecture faculty, co-curated an exhibition of collage work titled “Community in Collage” put on by the Pacific Northwest Collage Collective at the outdoor gallery Fenceworks Knights created at the corner of NE 74th Avenue and Oregon Street. The show features a selection of 24 collages from around the world submitted through an open call in response to the theme “Community.” The collages appear as printed enlargements on all-weather panels and will be on view until the end of June. Kimberly Kahn, psychology faculty, was elected as APA Division 8 (Society for Personality and Social Psychology) Council Representative. Kahn will serve a three-year term and be a member of the SPSP Board of Directors. Cynthia Mohr, psychology faculty, has been appointed as a field editor for Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs (JSAD), is the oldest substance-related journal published in the United States. JSAD is a multidisciplinary journal, publishing research on all aspects of the use of alcohol, other licit and illicit substances, and inhalants; tobacco and e-cigarette use; the misuse of prescription medication; and behavioral addictions, including gambling and gaming. Dan Rogers, business faculty, was interviewed for the article “Oregon Electric Vehicle Startup’s Decision to Go Public Sent it on a Wild Ride” by the Oregonian/OregonLive. Gerry Sussman, urban studies and planning and international and global studies faculty, was interviewed by China Global Television Network on the topic of the National Endowment for Democracy on May 26. Sue Taylor, art history faculty emerita, received a 2021 Benjamin F.
