Friendtorship will build a PLACE together this term in the MK Gallery — one that sparks curiosity, weirdness, and storytelling. In this project, we will imagine, design, and build an immersive world that visitors can step into and explore. Inspired by interactive art spaces like Meow Wolf, we’ll think about how a place can feel mysterious, playful, surprising, and full of secrets waiting to be discovered.
A great immersive world isn’t just something people look at — it’s something they experience. Visitors might open strange doors, discover hidden clues, meet unusual creatures, or find themselves in rooms where the rules of reality feel a little different. To build this world together, we’ll invent ideas for strange places, mysterious objects, interactive spaces, and stories hidden throughout the environment. Your ideas will help shape the world we create in the gallery. The goal is to be curious, inventive, and a little weird. The most interesting worlds often begin with unexpected ideas.
Exhibition on view: April 20 through May 8
Closing event: May 6, 2026, 11:30 am–1:30 pm
