Scholarships

Scholarships are available to incoming students and to those who are already attending Portland State University. Find scholarships, deadlines, and other important information by choosing your student type below. To apply for all Portland State scholarships visit the PSU Scholarship Universe portal.

Scholarship Application Workshop

The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is partnering with our Financial Wellness Center in providing a scholarship workshop for our prospective and current Vikings. This workshop will go over helpful tips for applying to scholarships and where to find scholarship opportunities for the 2026-2027 academic year. If you are interested in attending, please use this sign-up sheet to review the available times and days.

Departmental Scholarships

The PSU Scholarship Application is used to award both general (non-degree specific) as well as programmatic, departmental, and college-specific scholarships. Not all scholarships are awarded through the PSU application, contact your department, school, or college to find out if they offer other scholarship opportunities.

PSU has various scholarship deadlines between March 1 and May 15. Please check the scholarships for which you are applying for submission deadlines.

March 1: PSU Scholarship Application Deadlines (Scholarship deadlines vary, check the scholarships for specific submission deadlines.)

April 30: Scholarship Recipients Notified

External Scholarships

• Office of Student Access and Completion: The OSAC Scholarship Application provides current and future Oregon students one easy application to apply for multiple scholarships at one time.
• Oregon Community Foundation: The OCF partners with OSAC to administer additional scholarship funding outside of the OSAC Scholarship Application
• The Ford Family Foundation: This organization offers three scholarship programs targeting dedicated students who have demonstrated financial and social barriers and are residents of Oregon or Siskiyou County, California.
• The Renaissance Foundation: The intent of The Renaissance Foundation is to make a significant difference in the lives of people in need, especially in the areas of education, human services and environment.
• Scholarship Universe: The Scholarship Universe platform has vetted external scholarship opportunities. External Scholarships are not managed by PSU, all deadline information and criteria is subject to change and administered by the corresponding entity.
• TheDream.US: TheDream.US scholarships are for highly motivated undocumented students with or without DACA or TPS who want to get a college education but are unable to afford the cost. 

Notification

If you are selected to receive a scholarship you will be notified at your PDX email by the end of April. Scholarships will be added to your financial aid award offers for the upcoming school year. Enrollment requirements vary, please review the acceptance criteria. Recipients can review the scholarship acceptance criteria by logging in to Scholarship Universe.
