PSU School of Social Work Positions

 

MSW Assistant Professor of Practice, NTTF | PSU School of Social Work

The Assistant Professor of Practice position is a 9 month, full time 1.0 FTE, academic appointment.
 
This position:
  1. Teaches mainly in the Master of Social Work Program with a substantive focus on social work practices around substance use disorder and addictions, and
  2. develops and supervises CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) licensure track at the School of Social Work.

    This position moves forward the vision, mission, and values of the School of Social Work. This position possesses a strong commitment and background in student-centered pedagogy and engaged learning, including experience teaching first-generation students and students from historically marginalized groups including but not limited to: Native American, African American, Latinx, LGBT and queer students, and students with disabilities. This position has strong experience teaching and developing online courses.
 
Minimum Qualifications
  • MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program;
  • Five years post-MSW degree practice with individuals, families, communities, and/or organizations;
  • Demonstrated skills in in-person and remote instruction and/or training.

Managing Senior Supervisor | Casa for Children, Inc.

Through sustained, personal attention, the Managing Senior Supervisor’s role is to support a caseload of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA volunteers) and monitor their advocacy efforts through consultation, problem solving, troubleshooting, feedback, guidance, evaluation, motivation, training, and preparation for court appearances. In addition to a small caseload, the Senior Managing Supervisor provides supervison and support to 5-6 CASA Supervisors who manage CASA caseloads. This provides an opportunity to gain experience with Child Welfare, the court system, and program leadership in a mission-driven position at a highly regarded Portland-area non-profit.

Clinician/Therapist | Birchstone Psychotherapy/Birchstone Mental Health Urgent Care

Birchstone Psychotherapy and Assessment is hiring a therapist/clinician for a dual role providing both outpatient psychotherapy and mental health urgent care services. This position includes seeing established therapy clients during the week and providing same-day urgent care visits for individuals experiencing acute emotional distress.

Urgent care work focuses on assessment, stabilization, brief intervention, safety planning, and coordination of ongoing care rather than long-term treatment. Clinical Therapist - Eating Disorders & Body Image Specialist | Beyond Eating Recovery

Beyond Eating Recovery seeks a compassionate, skilled Eating Disorder Therapist to provide individual therapy for clients with eating disorders, body image, and related challenges.

Quantitative Analyst Graduate Intern| Oregon Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Needs 

•    Become acquainted with the NSCH, its data structure, and the Maternal Child Health Bureau’s (MCHB) Blueprint for Change for CYSHCN; 
•    Help to finalize the analysis plan, ensuring that results will center equity while addressing research questions;
•    Conduct quantitative analyses according to the analysis plan;
•    Propose and conduct follow-up analyses based on preliminary findings and team discussions;
•    Summarize findings in a brief report, using tables and figures to visualize data;
•    Collaborate with OCCYSHN’s A&E unit to strategize how to interpret findings and incorporate them into its needs assessment report.
