The Climate and Health Equity Coordinator position is responsible for the design and implementation of the Mutualistas Community Engagement & Resiliency Building Project. Our primary goal with this initiative is to build power with frontline communities through outreach, education, and advocacy training so the Latine community in Oregon is better equipped to understand the connection between climate change and public health, address climate-related health disparities through policy, and fight for climate justice. This is a limited duration position who will oversee project development, implementation, and evaluation over a two-year project period.

The Prevention Specialist position is a specific position within the Addiction Specialist classification. Counselor II (STEP) | Volunteers of America - Oregon
The Counselor II (STEP) provides compassionate and trauma-informed mental health and addiction counseling services. This position interacts with a multidisciplinary team comprised of counselors, parole officers, mentors, and employment specialists. This position will primarily serve clients in criminal justice diversion or reentry Outpatient Services, particularly those who have been referred through the Multnomah County STEP Court.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide culturally-informed individual and group counseling services congruent with evidence based treatment models.
- Conduct substance abuse assessments, substance abuse diagnoses and make client placement decisions using standardized instruments, ASAM, and DSM criteria.
- Identify client mental health concerns for referral and further assessment. If the employee is a Qualified Mental Health Professional, the expectation is that he/she will conduct mental health assessments and make diagnoses using DSM-V TR criteria.
- Develop individualized treatment plans for re-entry individuals in consultation with the client, the client’s family (when appropriate), and representatives of community partners.
- Complete and maintain, in electronic medical records, accurate and timely treatment documentation including progress notes; treatment plans; court reports; assessments and summaries; and termination summaries.
