Counseling Services

SHAC Counseling Services offers individual and group counseling, emergency/crisis counseling, LD/ADHD testing, medication evaluation and management, and consultation and outreach services.

SHAC Counseling Services Overview
Students interested in any of SHAC's counseling services are encouraged to come in to schedule an initial consultation with a counselor. SHAC counselors will meet with students to determine appropriate next steps for care which may include: referral to another PSU support resource, referral to group counseling, a follow up appointment with SHAC Counseling Services, being placed on Counseling Service's assignment list for individual counseling, and/or referral to a community resource. 

Initial Consultation Hours- Call or come in to SHAC to schedule

  • Monday: 9am - 12pm & 1pm - 3pm

  • Tuesday: 9am - 12pm & 1pm - 3pm

  • Wednesday: 9am - 12pm & 1pm - 3pm

  • Thursday: 1pm - 3pm

  • Friday: 10am - 12pm & 1pm - 3pm

How do I get started with counseling?

To initiate counseling services, please come to SHAC or call to schedule an initial consultation during any of our open hours. During the consultation, a counselor will meet with you to discuss your needs and your counseling service options (e.g., group, individual, another campus resource, community resource, etc.). 

What if I am having an emergency?

If you are having an emergency and need to speak with someone immediately, come in to SHAC at ANY time during SHAC hours of operation (Monday-Friday 9 AM-5 PM). After hours and weekends call the Multnomah County Crisis Line 503.988.4888.
