Medication Evaluation & Management
Psychiatric services are available to students engaged in therapy with a counselor in Counseling Services. A psychiatric consultation may be recommended to explore potential physical causes for psychological difficulties, offer clarification on diagnosis, and/or provide medication evaluation. Students are referred to a Counseling Services psychiatrist by their Counseling Services counselor.

Assessment Services
Learning Disorder & ADHD Assessment
The mission of the SHAC LD/ADHD Assessment Program is to reduce barriers to learning for PSU students. We offer a range of supports including consultation, referrals, workshops, brief interventions, and high quality, low-cost assessments. Students may be eligible to access other campus resources, such as learning accommodations, through the Disability Resource Center.

We are closed for the Winter '26 term. We are currently accepting new patients for the Spring ‘26 term .
To receive a referral for an evaluation at SHAC or assistance finding an assessment in the community, please schedule a brief triage appointment by calling (503)-725-2800 or visit the SHAC Patient Portal.
How do I get started?
- Accommodations Request: If you have been diagnosed in the past and want accommodations, the first step is to contact the Disability Resource Center by email at drc@pdx.edu or 503.725.4150.
- Learning Disability (LD) Support/Testing Request: If you would like more information about LD services offered at SHAC, please first read these Frequently Asked Questions. If you are interested in exploring a LD evaluation, please call 503-725-2800 to schedule an initial consultation.
- Medication Request: If you want to transfer your existing ADHD medication management to SHAC, documentation from a recent formal psychological evaluation is required. Please send a message to Assessment in SHAC Portal.
