Telehealth Appointments

What is telehealth?

Telehealth visits use video cameras and monitors to connect you to your provider, meaning you don't have to travel to get the care you need. You will be able to see, hear, and talk to your provider through video-conferencing.  

 

Health Services

Types of visits that can be seen: (If you do not see what you need please call SHAC at 503.725.2800)

  • Allergies
  • Animal or insect bites (minor)
  • Asthma
  • Birth Control
  • Bronchitis & respiratory infection
  • Colds, cough, flu & mild fever
  • Earache & ear infection
  • Pink eye & eye infection
  • Rash & skin infection
  • Sinus infections
  • Sprains & strains
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
  • Urinary tract infection (UTIs)
  • Gender affirming therapy 

During your telehealth appointment, your provider may determine that a follow up appointment is necessary.  You might be asked to come into SHAC for labs, immunizations, or an in-person exam.

If you have concerns about use of videoconferencing or phone for your visits, please let the SHAC Front Desk staff know and a Counseling Services administrator will follow up with you. 
 

Cost

Telehealth visits are considered office visits, and are covered by the Student Health Fee. Therefore you will NOT be assessed a fee for these visits.
 

Is my visit private?

Yes, the telehealth appointments through the Patient Portal are encrypted for maintaining patient privacy.  SHAC uses Zoom, a confidential video platform, which is launched through our electronic health record system.  Doing this allows us to apply strict privacy and security settings ensuring visits are HIPAA compliant and secure.  We also recommend that patients conduct their visits in a quiet and private place.

  • Tuesdays: 8am-5pm (closed 12-1pm)
  • Thursdays: 8am-5pm (closed 12-1pm)
  • Fridays: 8am-5pm (closed 12-1pm)
