Once students matriculate into any MME program, advising is conducted through the both the Department and Pathway Advisors. For content-specific advising or to evaluate degree progression, students should meet with the MME Undergraduate Advisor, Dr. Tretheway. Advising appointments can be scheduled via https://tretdc.youcanbook.me. For general advising, students should meet with their Pathway Advisor in MCECS Student Services. Pathway advising appointments can be scheduled via ecsmpadvising.youcanbook.me.
Graduate students will be assigned an initial advisor for first term advising and are expected to establish a permanent advisor by the conclusion of the second term. More information can be found under Advising & Committees.
These are the minimum grades needed to pass a course within MME:
- Selective Admission Courses: C
- Upper-Division Courses and non-selective admissions courses: D-
- Graduate Courses: B-
All courses must be completed with a letter grade. P/NP grades are not accepted.
It is common for students to receive error messages when attempting to register for classes. Banweb, the PSU registration system, does not always recognize transferred or substitute courses when performing prerequisite checks. If this occurs, please complete the MME Course Override Request Form. Our staff reviews requests with frequency and will be in touch shortly with a response. Be sure to login to your PDX Gmail account to access this form.
