Our Mission

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) supports the PSU community by providing a safe and healthy University environment.

We Implement this Mission Through the Following:

EHS manages and implements laboratory safety, fire prevention, and worker health and safety programs
EHS strives to reduce injuries, illnesses, and property losses by conducting safety assessments, investigating concerns, and providing safety training
EHS manages various regulated wastes and materials to promote sustainable practices and environmental stewardship

Our Services

Fire Prevention & Life Safety

PSU has established fire prevention and life safety programs, procedures, and guidance in order to ensure a safe working and living environment for faculty, staff, students, and visitors.

EHS manages biohazardous, hazardous chemical, radiological, and universal waste at PSU. Much of this waste is recycled, when possible, and always in accordance with applicable disposal and storage regulation

EHS provides administrative support to the Campus Safety Committee, oversees the Facilities & Construction Safety Committee, and is available to provide support to the number of other smaller safety oriented committees on campus.
