What is wave energy?

Wave energy harnesses the power of ocean waves to generate electricity. Despite the immense amount of energy generated by waves, wave power is not widely used commercially. Barriers to widespread adoption include environmental effects and limited lifespan due to the corrosive effects of seawater.

Wave energy research at Maseeh College

In the Magnetomechanical Lab, we are developing magnetically geared generators that harness the energy of ocean waves, as well as many other industry-advancing applications. Learn more and watch videos of our generators at work on the lab's website, linked below.
