The Undergraduate Research & Mentoring Program (URMP)  funds undergraduate research for undergraduate Maseeh College students. Students work closely with a faculty mentor, conduct research, complete a research project and get a stipend of $6000 for the full 10-week experience.

  • Be a freshman, sophomore, or junior Maseeh College student.
  • Maintain a strong academic record.
  • Demonstrate interest in undergraduate research.
  • Commit to 10 weeks of full-time research during the summer (~40 hours/week), with start and end dates negotiable with your faculty mentor.
  • Have the ability to research and work full-time during the summer.

Responsibilities:

  • Attend regular research meetings.
  • Submit weekly progress reports.
  • Present your research findings and fellowship experience at a PSU community forum, typically during the Maseeh College fall welcome.

  1. A list of three faculty research labs that your interested in: details about projects and key skills needed is available here. Students are encouraged to contact and meet with the faculty before the application deadline to learn more about their work.
  2. An updated resume. Students can get assistance writing and updating resumes in the Student Career Services Center.
