PSU/PDX Cooperative Education Program (PCEP)

The PSU/PDX Cooperative Education Program (PCEP) is a two-year cooperative educational program in which Computer Science students work 20 hours per week at one of our local PCEP Partner companies in a series of defined internship roles, while concurrently taking between eight and twelve credits each term on-campus at PSU. Pay begins at $27 an hour with semi-annual raises. New internship cycles start approximately every six months (January and July), and interns must work at two or more PCEP companies in at least two different roles during the program.

Any student admitted to the B.S. Computer Science degree program at Portland State University, who will have completed CS163, CS205, CS302, and CS314, with grades of B or better, by the time their co-op begins may apply. 

  • Be over 18
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA overall
  • Have the permanent right to work in the United States (some positions require U.S. citizenship).
  • Must attend the Orientation Session to be able to apply. Sign up using your @pdx.edu address. (links to apply will be sent to students that register and attend orientation)

 

October 10, 2025 - Mandatory Orientation Session via Zoom. The registration cut-off is October 8, 2025. 

October 20, 2025 - Applications due by noon (links to apply will be sent to students who register and attend orientation)

November 5, 2025 - PCEP finalists invited to interview

November 10-14, 2025 - PCEP interviews over Zoom

November 17, 2025 - Interview decisions announced

November 21, 2025 - Meet and greet for successful applicants

December 1, 2025 - Company placements will be announced

January 5-9, 2026 - Interns begin work
