Our minor in Artificial Intelligence introduces core concepts in computing, programming and modern AI. This certificate examines how advanced AI systems are built, evaluated and deployed. Designed for undergraduate students in the humanities and social sciences, this certificate introduces the technologies behind modern AI. Coursework combines foundational instruction in how AI systems work with hands-on application to students' primary field of study, keeping ethical, social and human implications central throughout. Discover CS Cohort

If you want to explore computer science, strengthen another major, or better understand the technology shaping your field, the Discover CS Cohort offers a structured, supportive place to begin.

No coding experience? No problem! In the Discover CS Cohort, you will move through the first three required computer science courses with the same instructor, mentors, schedule, and classmates. You will learn the programming languages Python and C++, develop strong problem-solving skills, and build a foundation for understanding code, evaluating what it does, and creating meaningful solutions.

Linguistics & Computer Science BS

How does AI learn to speak? Linguistics and computer science meet in this degree, which examines the science behind chatbots, translation tools and large language models. Coursework spans language structure, algorithm design and AI ethics. PSU is the only university in the Pacific Northwest to offer a standalone major integrating the two fields.
