The Portland Zine Symposium (PZS) is a free annual zine fair that has celebrated independent publishing and DIY culture since 2001. Dedicated to strengthening community connections and fostering creative expression, the event brings together zinesters, artists, and readers from across the region. Attendees can browse hundreds of self-published works spanning an incredible range of topics—from pop culture and autobiographical comics to disability justice, queer identity, activism, art, and everything in between.
This year's symposium will take place on Saturday, October 17th and Sunday, October 18th at Portland State University in the Smith Ballroom. All events are free and open to the public from 11 am to 5 pm each day.
The entrance to the venue is on SW Broadway between Montgomery and Harrison streets. Elevators are located on the first floor by the student store and can be used to reach the third floor, where the event will take place. There are also stairs at the north and south sides of the building.
