Guitar Orchestra

The Guitar Orchestra within the PSU Music program is a large university orchestra ensemble available to majors, non-majors, and community members. With an emphasis on classical guitar, this ensemble is challenging, with intensive practice and preparation.

Build your skills

Guitar Orchestra members participate in a rigorous practice and performance schedule, helping you refine your time management skills as you balance ensemble obligations with your larger course of study. It is also where you'll bond with your fellow guitar students, learning to rely on each other as a group.

Performance Opportunities

Each quarter there are 2-3 performances. In addition, each year the Guitar Orchestra will usually travel to various festivals and competitions. Contact Jesse McCann for the audition schedule.

Mario Diaz - CLASSICAL GUITAR INSTRUCTOR

Mario Díaz is a guitarist, singer, audio engineer, and educator whose musical activities have taken him across the U.S. and South America. A member of the Oregon Guitar Quartet, he has also performed with Portland Opera, 45th Parallel, Fear No Music and Third Angle New Music.
